The Boat Safe 300w boat heater is our improved small-sized marine bilge heater provides forced-air heat through a patented case design to keep your engine compartment safely above freezing. The Boatsafe® boat heater does this while maintaining ignition protection. When the boat heater’s sensor detects an ambient temperature of approximately 40º Fahrenheit it turns on and remains on until the sensor reaches approximately 55º Fahrenheit (12.7ºC).

Testing for Function
All BoatSafe® heaters can be tested to insure they are working properly. Almost every bilge heater we have built can be tested using freeze spray 1,2. Beginning with the 2011 model year, all bilge heaters can be tested using either freeze spray or the push to test feature. Testing should be performed at least biannually and especially at the start of your cold season.

The U.S. Coast Guard has established strict standards of ignition protection based on the known ignition point of various fuels. BoatSafe® bilge heaters have passed this test along with many others.

Proper functioning can be verified with Freeze Mist Spray (not included) or “Press to Test” button, standard on all models.
All BoatSafe® bilge heaters can be tested with a freeze spray that is sprayed on the thermostat to test bilge heater function. Freeze spray can be purchased at RadioShack®. ALL 2011 model bilge heaters come equipped with a “Press to Test” button on the bottom of the case to test bilge heater function.
Cost effective – may eliminate annual cost of winterizing your boat in some climates
In climates with extreme temperature variations, this bilge heater may extend your boating season, but it will NOT replace proper winterizing of your boat. For additional information, consult your marine accessories dealer or BoatSafe, Inc. for recommendations specific to your boat and climate.

Simply put, warmer batteries perform better and crank when you need them. If you are a first responder (Coast Guard, police, etc.) or even someone who likes to boat on a cold day, your boat or generator must work. Protecting your batteries in the engine compartment helps them maintain the strength to perform.
Energy efficient
BoatSafe® bilge heaters only operate when they are needed. It’s active heat window is set to cycle on at 40-45 degrees Fahrenheit and cycle off at 55 degrees Fahrenheit. Additionally, the 5 intake and 5 exhaust vents use forced air heat to warm the engine compartment surfaces, and heat is absorbed and retained by these surfaces. Boaters can further retain this heat by closing or covering all vents so that warm air does not escape.
